Questions about sleeping and waterbeds |
Sleep during pregnancy During the first 3 months of the pregnancy an increase
in progesterone creates a feeling of drowsiness and the urge to sleep longer. On the other
hand, women wake up more frequently at night to go to the toilet from the fourth until the sixth
month and it gets gradually harder to lie down comfortably. But especially during the last three
months of the pregnancy, most sleep problems occur such as heartburn, muscular cramps and restless
legs. The baby also can disturb the sleep.
For many women a 4D-Comfort mattress is a solution for sleep problems during the last part of the pregnancy. The highly stretchable comfort surface moulds perfectly to the changing shape of the pregnant woman, and the warmth of the bed reduces muscular cramps. After giving birth, the night's sleep is interrupted by the sleep rhythm of the baby, especially when you breast-feed your baby. This sleep rhythm consists of several short periods of sleep that are interrupted to feed the baby. Often this causes sleepiness during the daytime for the mother. The best thing she can do is to sleep when the child is sleeping, even at noon. |
