L. Extracting the air from the watermattress 37
37. Disconnect the hose and add the conditioner to the
water inside the watermattress. Read the instructions on the conditioners packaging carefully. Note
the date you added the conditioner on your guarantee.
38
38. The
watermattress still contains some air that was left inbetween the fibres inside the watermattress.
Most of this air can be removed by sweeping the air bubbles gently to the pull cap. Repeat this
until all the air is removed from the watermattress surface.
39
39. The last bubbles of air are removed with an air
extractor. Screw the extractor on the pull cap and remove the air until water appears in the
transparent part of the pull cap. During the next few weeks some more bubbles might surface, which
can be removed the same way. If your bed keeps making sloshing sounds when you lie on it after
several weeks, that means there is still some air left. An air free waterbed should be silent.
40
40. Disconnect the air extractor and push the transparent
part of the pull cap down so the water level reaches the edge of the cap. Plug in the cap and
screwcap and push the pull cap back into its pocket.
