 is 30% stronger
than classic PVC foils. Tensile strength and elongation at break were tested. The increased
strength is a result of the production process. The way the ingredients are mixed as well as the
method to turn the PVC paste into a foil, play a decisive role in the improved characteristics. The
4D production process guarantees a very strong molecular compound in 3 dimensions. Only extreme
stress would be able to disrupt this molecular structure. Water mattresses manufactured with

 MORE ELASTIC
is 10% more elastic than our
classic foils. It also proved to be more elastic than other foils, which use monomeric
plasticizers. The improved elasticity originates in the high quality compound of these - more
expensive - polymeric plasticizers. The perfect mixing and chemical composition of the ingredients
guarantees the unsurpassed quality of this new foil. A high elasticity means waterbeds can be
manufactured that mould even better to fit the human contours.
 LONGER LIFE

resists flex tests
at least 10 x longer than classic PVC foils. A leak in a waterbed nearly always occurs at a
spot where the material is forced to bend very frequently. On such spots, microscopic breaks in the
material appear first, to grow into larger breaks and eventually leaks over time. The extremely
high resistance against repeated bending , guarantee a much longer life span of the water mattress.
In flex tests on classic foils, breaks appear after approx.1.300.000 repeats. 4D
®- Vinyl Foil resists over 10.000.000 times. When installed correctly, a 4D-mattress
will last longer than most other mattresses.
 RESISTS HARDENING
LONGER
stays soft and
flexible much longer than classic PVC foils. High quality polymeric plasticizers do not dissolve
into the water of a water mattress. This results in a much longer resistance against hardening,
even in constant contact with water. Plasticizers with a simple monomeric structure dissolve much
quicker in water, which speeds up the hardening process. 4D

INCREASED DENSITY
is 12% heavier than
our normal PVC foils, due to the changed production process, in which the base materials are mixed
under very high pressure. This doesn’t only make our 4D
® -Vinyl foil heavier, it also ensures a more even quality in the foil. Next to that,
the molecular structure is better combined in all 3 dimensions. The better mix of base materials
eliminates weak spots in the foil. In classic PVC foils these weak spots can occur due to an
insufficient spreading of the plasticizers. This allows a smooth production of water
mattresses.
CONCLUSION
is a new foil,
