Do I need a reinforced floor for my waterbed?

Do I need a reinforced floor for my waterbed We haven't heard of any case where a waterbed has dropped through a floor, or caused any damage to it due to its weight. The weight of the waterbed should therefore not be any problem. After all, the weight is divided evenly to spread out the total pressure. Classic beds based on 4 tiny feet, however, are more likely to cause damage to your floor.

Even the heaviest  hardside waterbeds never caused any problems related to their weight. A filled waterbed weighs less per square meter than a bookshelf or a full refrigerator.
